Inseego Skyus 100/140/160 Router Antennas Boosters
How To Boost The Cell Signal To An Skyus 100, 140, 160 Routers.
Do you need to improve your Internet speeds by boosting the cellular signal to Inseego Skys 100 Series Hotspot? A stronger cell signal can mean faster Internet speeds. We offer a several different options to boost the cell signal strength to your Inseego Skyus Router.
- Add an External Antenna (Connect to one or both of the Skyus 100 Series external antenna ports)
- Mobile Signal Booster System (Does not require a connection to your device)
- Building Signal Booster - Cover a room or a whole building.
Attach An Inseego Skyus 100 Series Router External Antenna
A cost effective way to increase the cellular signal strength is to attach an external antenna. The Skyus 100 Series Routers have two ports with SMA Female Connectors for an external cellular antenna. We have antennas with SMA Male connectors that will connect directly to these ports.
How Well Does This Work? The key to getting a better cell signal with an external antenna is to mount the antenna where the signal is better - outside window, outdoors, etc. The better the cell signal where you place the external antenna, the better data speeds will be.
Best Antenna Option? The best antenna option is a directional antenna (Wilson Wide Band Directional Antenna). It's best to mount outdoors, pointed towards the your nearest service provider tower. Also minimize the amount of cable to the antenna to reduce cable loss. A 20 foot cable works well.
Cellular Signal Booster Systems Option
A powered cellular amplifier works by taking the available wireless signal, amplifying it, then rebroadcasting it to and from your cellular device. You can also use powered amplifiers including cellular repeater type systems that don't connect to your device at all. We list several of these types of cellular signal booster systems below.
A Cellular Signal Booster System most times works better than an external antenna by itself. The amount of improvement will depend on the signal strength and data speeds where you decide to mount the outdoor antenna. You should test each potential location to see where the fastest data speeds are.
