* About Newer weBoost Drive Reach Power Supplies
5 Volt vs 12 Volt
About the middle of 2021, weBoost changed the Drive Reach and it’s Power Supplies. The basic difference is that the older Drive Reach amplifiers are 5 volt and the newer versions are 12 volt. They each require a different power supply. The 12 volt power supply came with Drive Reach kits beginning May 2021 and Drive Reach OTR Kits beginning July 2021. Neither Drive Reach signal booster is more powerful than the other.
How Do You Tell Which Power Supply Your weBoost Drive Reach Requires?
If you are looking for a new power supply for your Drive Reach amplifier, you can tell which one you need by looking at the amplifier power port. If there is just a line and dashes, then you will need the 5 volt power supply. A 12 volt Drive Reach amplifier will also have "12v" labeled next to the power connection.
The weBoost Drive Reach is available in several versions including:
- weBoost Drive Reach 470154 Standard version with magnetic mount outdoor antenna
- Drive Reach Fleet 470254 version with roof hole mount antenna (requires drilling a small hole in the vehicles roof)
- Drive Reach Over-The-Road (OTR) version with Wilson's Over-The-Road Truck Antenna
- Drive Reach RV - Mobile Signal Booster With Wilson's RV Antenna
