TIP:
Ground Planes
Most antennas
for cellular phones are made to be used on a flat metal surface
which provides a ground plane for the antenna. If you plan to
use your antenna away from your car, the antenna should be mounted
on a flat metal surface such as a filing cabinet, a metal sheet,
metal tape base. You'll need about a 8"x8" or 12"x12"
piece of metal.
