Wilson DB Pro™ DualBand 62db
Bi-Directional Cellular Amplifier / Repeater
The Wilson SignalBoost™ DB Pro™ DualBand 62db cellular repeater greatly improves signal strength for any cellular device inside a building on most networks. It does not require any physical connection to your phone allowing you to walk around freely during a call. It even allows multiple cell phones and/or Data Cards to be used simultaneously.
Wilson SignalBoost™ DB Pro™ In Building Cellular Amplifier
Comes with
- Wilson SignalBoost™ DB Pro™ Dual Band Cellular Amplifier
- 6 volt AC/DC Power Supply
- Instruction Manual
Requires inside and one outside 75 ohm antennas plus 75 ohm RG6 coax cable (not included). Antenna connectors on the amplifier are F Female (requires 75 ohm Quad Shield RG-6 coax cables with F Male connectors), View Specifications. 801262
Works for most 800MHz and 1900MHz range networks including CDMA, TDMA, GSM within the US and Canada. Will Not work for Nextel iDen or Telus-Mike iDen Networks. See Wilson iDen Cellular Repeaters.) Requires at least 50 ft of separation between the inside and outside antenna.
Kit 1
Wilson SignalBoost™ DB Pro™
Includes Antennas & Cable
Using the omni directional antenna included in this kit will capture the signal from multiple towers & service providers in the area. Separation requirement between the inside and outside antenna is 50 ft (inside panel antenna should be mounted so that it is pointed away from the outside antenna.)
Kit Includes:
- Wilson SignalBoost™ DB Pro™ Amplifier (801262)
- 6 volt AC/DC Power Supply
- Instruction Manual
- Wilson Omni Directional 75 Ohm Building Mount Antenna with mounting hardware. (301201)
- Wilson Dual Band 75 ohm Panel Antenna (301155)
- RG-6 Quad Shield Coax Cable:
- 1 ea. - 20’
- 1 ea. - 30’
- 1 ea. - 50’
- 1 barrel connectors F-female to F-female to combine lengths.
Kit 2
Wilson SignalBoost™ DB Pro™
Includes Directional Antennas & Cable
Using the directional antenna included in this kit will improve the coverage area inside. This directional antenna focuses a higher gain towards your provider's tower. It also reduces the separation requirement between the inside and outside antenna to about 25 ft (inside and outside antenna must be pointed away for each other.) (See note below.)
Kit Includes:
- Wilson SignalBoost™ DB Pro™ Amplifier (801262)
- 6 volt AC/DC Power Supply
- Instruction Manual
- Wilson Directional "Wedge" Antenna with mounting hardware (304475)
- Wilson Dual Band 75 ohm Panel Antenna (301155)
- RG-6 Quad Shield Coax Cable:
- 1 ea. - 20’
- 1 ea. - 30’
- 1 ea. - 50’
- 1 barrel connectors F-female to F-female to combine lengths.
Important Note: The down side of using a directional antenna is that it focuses towards one direction. If you are trying to improve the signal for multiple service providers and their towers are in opposite directions, the coverage of one service provider may be weaker. If this is the case, we would recommend the omni directional antenna included in Kit 1.
About Building Cellular Amplifiers
The Wilson DB Pro™ In Building Cellular Amplifier Repeater is a small, bi-directional amp that deliver service levels consistent with what would be expected in areas of high cell network coverage. They amplify a weak or shadowed cellular signal and repeat it in an in-building application. When using a Wilson amplifier in conjunction with Wilson antennas, the outside antenna will collect the cell tower signal and send it through the cable to the amplifier. The signal is then amplified and broadcast from the inside antenna to the surrounding area.
Cellular Amplifier for use in Homes, Fire Stations, Command Posts, Offices and Other Buildings.
Cell phones and cellular data cards in that area then communicate with the improved signal. When a cell phone or cellular device transmits, the signal is received by the inside antenna, amplified by the amplifier and broadcast back to the cell tower through the outside antenna.
All components are interconnected using standard TV cable (RG-6) which is easily available and often found pre-installed, simplifying cable runs.
Wilson DB Pro™ Cellular Amplifier Features:
- Has up to 20 times more power than your cell phone or laptop data card
- Significantly improves voice and data signal quality
- Improves data communication rates needed for 3G technologies
- Uses commonly installed and available 75 ohm RG-6 Cable
- Wireless operation. No physical connection to your phone is required.
- Powerful 62db Gain For 800 MHz Cellular and 1900 MHz PCS Bands
- Works on all generations of CDMA, TDMA AND GSM Including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc. (Not for Nextel iDen Networks. See iDen Cellular Repeaters)
- Automatic gain adjusting to prevent oscillation
- Gain Indicator lights
- Automatic shutdown on overload
- Cell site friendly design
- FCC and Industry Canada type accepted
IMPORTANT NOTE
Requires at least 50 feet of separation (25ft if using directional outside antenna) between Inside and Outside Antenna
Requires fairly good signal outside (2-3 bars min.). The better the outside signal, the more cellular coverage inside the building. See below for estimating improved coverage area.
Estimating Improved Cellular Coverage Area
Coverage area (distance from inside antenna that you can expect a usable cellular signal) can be approximated by:
- Getting a Received Signal Strength Level (RSSL) reading using your cell phone from outside the building. You should also use the reading to determine the best location for the outside antenna. Use the pdf document "Standard Phone Test Modes " which has instructions for putting a cell phone into test mode and reading Received Signal strength. If your phone is not listed in this document or you need additional help getting a RSSL reading, contact Wilson Electronics tech support for help at 866-294-6996.
- Estimating length and type of cable required to install inside and outside antennas
- Selecting inside and outside antenna type.
- Using Wilson's Online Coverage Calculator.
- Use 801106 60db for "Amplifier Gain" for 800MHz coverage calculations.
- Use 801306 60db for "Amplifier Gain" for 1900MHz coverage calculations.
NEED HELP?
If you need assistance in calculating the coverage area, call or email us after getting a Received Signal Strength Level reading and estimating cable lengths required to mount inside and outside antennas and we will be happy to help.
Repeater Antenna Requirements
The Wilson SignalBoost DB Pro cellular amplifier requires two 75 ohm antennas. One antenna for outside and one for inside. The outside
antenna must be 50 feet away from the inside antenna (that's physical separation between the inside and outside antenna not cable length).
These distances must be maintained or the signal will oscillate between the two antennas and no improvement will be noticed. Also, not enough separation can damage the amplifier.
The Wilson 75 ohm Panel Antenna, or Wilson 75 ohm Dome Antenna is recommended for inside use and the Wilson 75 ohm Building Antenna or Wilson WideBand "Wedge" directional antenna is recommended for outside use.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Wilson SignalBoost DB Pro cellular repeater is used in locations where the signal from your service provider is strong outside a building but weak inside the building. It's used where the wireless signal is blocked by the building walls or roof. If your signal is very weak outside of your building, consider a power booster or antenna that connects directly to your phone (such as Wilson's DirectConnect) for better results.
