Wilson Electronics Band 5 Channel A Filter with N Female Connectors.
Without filtering, Wilson and weBoost cellular repeaters will react to the strongest signal detected. The booster will reduce its gain required by FCC rules. This is normal and is usually not an issue. But, reducing gain may impact other service providers that do not have as strong a signal in an area.
For example, two carriers in one area may both be using the same Band but different Channels. The amplifier boosts the full band. Carrier A (using Band 5, Channel A) and Carrier B (using Band 5, Channel B) both use Band 5 in the area. Carrier A has a very strong signal from a nearby tower. The amplifier senses this and reduces the amplifier's gain for Band 5. But, Carrier B has a weaker signal and needs full gain from the amplifier. When the amplifier powers down, it impact both carriers.
Using this filter will reduce the signal to the amplifier from Carrier A. The amplifier does not power down as much which allows better gain for Carrier B which is using Channel B.
