The best way to improve the reception of your Option GT-Max on Cingulars HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS networks is to attach an external antenna. The following external antenna kits come with the external antenna shown and an external antenna adapter which enables you to connect the antenna directly to your GT-Max PC Card.

Micro Magmount Antenna Kit

A great portable antenna solution. This is a dual band antenna (800MHz and 1900MHz range) that comes with an External Antenna Adapter which enables you to connect the antenna directly to your PC Card. This antenna is about 3 inches tall and has a tiny magnetic base with 10ft of RG-174 (thin coax cable). The antenna is best placed on a piece of metal (such as a car roof or file cabinet) outdoors or near a window. The size of this antenna enables quick and easy movement from place to place. Fits Option GT-Max (non Wi-Fi version only), Sierra Wireless 580 PC Card, PC5220 / Audiovox PC5200. Includes antenna and external antenna adapter. Note: The adapter with this antenna kit will only fit the Option GT-Max PC Card that does not have wi-fi capability. As far as we know, there are no markings on the PC Cards to differentiate between the 2 versions. You must contact your service provider to find out if your PC Card is the wi-fi version. Not compatible with Option GT-Max 3.6 Express.

Wilson Dual Band Magnetic Mount Antenna Kit

Dual Band (806-894 MHz and 1850-1990 MHz) magnetic mount antenna. This antenna has one open and one closed coil. Antenna gain is 5.12dBi in 806 - 894 MHz and 6.12dBi in 1850 - 1990 MHz. Metal Ground Plane is Required (metal on car will act as a ground plane.) Antenna is about 12 inches tall and includes a small magnetic base and 8.5 feet of RG-174U (thin) coax cable with FME Female connector. This antenna kit includes this Wilson Dual Band antenna and adapter to connect the antenna directly to your Sierra PC Card.
