Panel Antenna Installation Guide

Panel Antenna Installation Guide

Installing a Panel Antenna is usually quick and easy. There are 2 options for most panels, 1. Wall Mount and 2. Window Mount.

Note: The Wilson dual-band panel antenna is vertically polarized. For optimum performance, install the antenna with the cable running from the bottom or the top. If the antenna is installed with the N-connector or cable running horizontally, the signal will be degraded.

Panel Antenna Window Installation

Panel Antenna Window Mounting

Wilson's Part # 301134 is a window mount panel antenna that comes with suction cups for easy window mounting. You can also mount the Panel more securely using double sided tape.

To mount, fist find the window that faces the direction of the nearest cell tower. Since these Panel Antennas are directional, you must point it towards the nearest service providers cell tower.

You can look at the number of bars on your device but it's more accurate to put your device into test mode and get a signal strength reading.

Next, select the location on the window where the panel antenna will be hung. The panel antenna must be installed at least seven feet above the floor. Clean the window and the suction cups with the alcohol swab.

It is important that the small tabs on each suction cup be facing outward so they may be used to remove the antenna from the window if desired. Use firm and even pressure to attach the antenna to the window without breaking the glass. Avoid excessive or sudden pressure against the glass.

For a more permanent installation, remove the suction cups and use the two-sided tape to affix the antenna.

Panel Antenna Wall Installation

Panel Antenna Wall Mounting

Wilson part numbers 301135 and 301147 panel antennas come with a bracket and template for mounting on a wall.

First find the desired wall location for the panel antenna. If using the panel with an in building cellular amplifier system, verify that the panel antenna and the outside antenna have the necessary separation from the outside antenna (see amplifier instructions for separation requirements.) and are pointing away from each other (if the outside antenna is a directional antenna this is especially important).

The panel antenna must be installed at least seven feet above the floor. Place the template included with your antenna where the antenna is to be installed.

Attach the diagram with masking tape or other suitable adhesive tape.

Drill out the four holes as indicated on the template. Place the mounting bracket over the holes and insert the screws. Slide the panel onto the installation bracket.
