Our High Power USB Wi-Fi adapter cards provide wireless network connection to any computer using Windows Apple Mac or Linux operating systems. Based on the highly usable, extremely popular Realtek RTL-8187L chipset this card provides over 3 times the output wattage of most internal 30-50mW radios! Add wireless networking to your PC, or just increase your wifi range by disabling the internal radio and plugging this card to your USB port and installing the drivers.

Features

This 200mW card is great for small laptop/netbook as well as desktop users. Sleek and compact this unit is no bigger than most antennas that you would use it with! Using any of our wifi antennas, this unit greatly outperforms the 40mW radio in most laptops and desktops. The internal laptop antenna suffers from the losses of a 6" to12” length of thin coaxial cable. We estimate the real performance of such a built-in antenna system at -5 dBi. That’s a whopping 50% less signal (based on gain alone) compared to the lowest-gain antenna you would use with this external USB WiFi adapter. Consider also, that our 200mW card transmits approximately 4 times the signal power of the internal card and you can quickly realize what this little card can do for your wireless operation!

When you have an external antenna port on your high powered wifi adapter, the possibilities are endless!
For the sake of simplicity, just attach a low-cost, low gain omni-direcitonal antenna for normal use.
For greater range, try a high gain omni-directional antenna.
For even longer distances and a cleaner signal, use a high gain directional antenna and point it at the access point you are trying reach.
If you use your PC in an area where the signal is blocked (such as behind a metal or concrete wall), just use a USB extension cable to get your adapter into the area with good signal!
